Dan’s classes last year were awesome, and enormous fun. A lot of the “training” swimming I do is on my own, either before work or at lunchtime. I often go with my chum from work, but we swim in different lanes so I’m ploughing up and down on my own. In Dan’s classes, however, I was swimming with friends, and many of them became better friends by virtue of swimming with them for an hour twice a week for three months. And people who I hadn’t known at all became friends. Quite apart from the charms of Charming Dan, it’s fab to start the day with an hour of challenging exercise combined with laughter and chat. It’s a lot more fun than swimming a mile on your own.
